Technical processing tutorial. This tutorial will guide you from the basics to advanced topics of Cataloging. The technical processing module has following sub functionality.

  • Primary cataloging: Create new catalog records
  • Search catalog: Tool to search catalog and also has utilities to modify, delete and so on
  • Import catalog records: Import catalog records from Library of Congress or OpenCatalog or Z39.50 Servers
  • From acquisitions -> Items ready for Technical Processing: Catalog items that are acquired through the acquisitions module
  • Utilities->Print Spine labels and Barcode labels: A tool to print spine labels and barcode labels(code 3 of 9). These are generated in a excel sheet
  • Utilities->Re-index catalog record: After cataloging if you do not find a catalog record during search, you may explicitly re-index a catalog record
